OSTEO-GUARD® PLUS IPRIFLAVONE Calcium Microcrystalline Hydroxyapatite with Ipriflavone, Magnesium, and Vitamin D Osteo-Guard® Plus Ipriflavone, combines iprifiavone, a flavonoid isoflavone, with calcium from microcrystalline hydroxyapatite compound (MCHC) prepared from whole bone, and magnesium from a nutritionally functional amino acid chelate with excellent bioavailability. Osteo-Guard® Plus Ipriflavone also provides phosphorus, trace minerals, bone matrix proteins, amino acids, and glycosaminoglycans in F their natural forms and optimal physiological ratios. Ipriflavone is a non-hormonal agent currently used in many countries for the treatment of osteoporosis. Numerous clinical trials have demonstrated ipnflavone’s ability to slow the decline in bone mineral density. It has been shown to reduce the rate of bone breakdown by inhibiting osteoclast and stimulating osteoblast activity. Ipriflavone, together with adequate calcium, vitamin D, and other key nutrients, offers non-estrogenic protection against excessive bone resorption. Unlike other well-known isoflavones, such as genistein found in soy foods, ipriflavone does not have estrogenic activity hence has no effect on breast or reproductive tissue.
